SolRoof FIT VOLT
The FIT VOLT case rests on its specifications and its warranty: tempered glass on 0.5 mm XCarb® steel, a SolarEdge optimizer for every two panels, and a steel warranty of up to 60 years with the XTREME coating. BP2 makes it in the EU.
US status: proven across European installations. Not yet installed in the US; Solar Seam is preparing its first US projects.
Where it stands in the US
SolRoof FIT VOLT has not been installed anywhere in the US yet. It is proven across European installations, and Solar Seam is preparing its first US projects.
So its case here rests on its specifications and its warranty, which is what this page sets out. Until our first SolRoof roof is built, every SolRoof photo we show is a European installation, labeled as one.
How it's built
FIT VOLT is a glass-on-steel panel: tempered glass over 36 half-cut monocrystalline PERC cells, on a 0.5 mm XCarb® steel panel from ArcelorMittal. Panels snap together at 0.87 in (22 mm) standing seams over a ventilated batten deck, and a SOUNDCONTROL 200 coating on the underside damps rain noise.
Each active panel covers about 20.7 × 79.1 in. Plain FIT steel panels in the same profile, in two lengths, finish the roof. Each pair of active panels feeds one SolarEdge optimizer, mounted in a steel track at the roof edge where it can be reached. Cabling runs in steel channels under the roof covering, and a SolarEdge inverter completes the system.

- Figures are as published in each manufacturer's current datasheet, factsheet or guarantee terms, converted to US units. "Not stated" means the manufacturer doesn't publish that figure.
- Manufacturers state load and hail ratings on different test bases. They are not design loads; a structural engineer sets your roof's design snow and wind loads.
- Efficiency is stated on different areas. The per-square-foot row divides rated power by roof coverage, which puts both systems on the same basis.
- UL 61730: we don't claim a North American listing for either system until we have verified it.
Warranty, in plain terms

- Module12-year product guarantee on FIT VOLT active panels.
- Power output25 years: at least 97.5% of minimum peak power in year 1 and 80% at year 25.
- Steel and coating30 years on the steel roof. Up to 60 years with the XTREME coating, or 40 years within 3 km (about 2 miles) of the coast. The guarantee must be registered with the manufacturer.

Where it fits
Six things decide which system goes on a roof. Here is where this one lands on each.
- Roof pitchNeeds more than 9° (about 1.9:12). Flatter sections, such as some porches and sheds, get standing-seam metal rated for the slope.
- Roof shape and module sizesOne active panel size, about 21 × 79 in, with plain FIT panels in two lengths to finish the roof. Long, simple planes suit it well.
- Warranty priorities12-year panel and 25-year power warranties, plus up to 60 years on the steel with the XTREME coating (40 near the coast). Compare the terms side by side.
- ElectronicsA SolarEdge optimizer for every two panels and a SolarEdge inverter, supplied as part of the system.
- Lead timeMade in the EU and shipped by sea. We confirm lead time when we place the order.
- BudgetPriced per roof. The instant estimate prices it next to Roofit Velario® on your address, with the same line items.
Worth knowing
Warranty
12 years on the panel and 25 on power output. The up-to-60-year term covers the XTREME-coated steel, not the solar panel, and it is 40 years within about 2 miles of the coast.
Pitch
At more than 9° minimum, the flattest parts of some roofs (porches, sheds, low additions) get standing-seam metal rated for the slope instead of active panels.
Loads
BP2's factsheet lists a static load rating of 1,600 Pa (about 33 psf), both directions. In heavy-snow towns, the structural check decides where it can go.
In the US
Not yet installed in the US. Proven across European installations; Solar Seam is preparing its first US projects. We don't claim a UL listing until we've verified one.
Representative installations
Manufacturer photographs, labeled as such. None of them is a Solar Seam roof.

Datasheets
The manufacturer's documents, as published. They list certifications as the manufacturer states them; we don't claim a UL listing until we've verified it.
